Claycraft

Terms

The agreement between you and Claycraft when you build a website with us. We kept it as short and plain as we could.

Last updated: 25 September 2026

Draft: the company details on this page still need to be filled in and checked before Claycraft opens to the public.

1. What Claycraft is

Claycraft (Claycraft (Pty) Ltd) lets you build and run a website and online shop for your business. You can change it, publish it, take orders and receive messages.

2. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older, and the details you give us must be true.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.

3. Price

  • Claycraft costs R250 a month (including VAT, if VAT applies). Everything on Claycraft is included; there are no add-ons.
  • We never take a commission or a share of your sales.
  • If we ever change the price, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before.
  • There is no contract period. You can stop at any time; your website stays live until the end of the month you paid for.

4. Selling to your customers

  • Sales happen between you and your customer. Money goes straight to you (by EFT, cash, or through your own PayFast or Yoco account). Claycraft is not part of the sale.
  • You are responsible for your products, prices, delivery, refunds and for following the law, including the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (for example, showing your business details and your returns policy).
  • PayFast and Yoco have their own terms and fees, which you agree to with them.

5. What you put on your website

  • Your words, photos and products stay yours. You give us permission to store and show them so your website works.
  • Only use photos and words you have the right to use.
  • Don’t use Claycraft for anything illegal, harmful or misleading, such as fake goods, scams, hate speech or selling things that need a licence you don’t have. We may take such a website offline.

6. Personal information

You are responsible for the personal information of your customers; we store and process it for you, as explained on our Privacy page.

7. Keeping Claycraft running

We work hard to keep your website online all the time, but we can’t promise it will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance or problems at the services we rely on.

8. Liability

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for lost sales or profits. If we are responsible for a loss, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the three months before it happened.

9. Stopping

You can close your account at any time. We may close an account that breaks these terms or isn’t paid, after warning you by email where possible. After closing, you have 30 days to ask us for a copy of your orders and messages.

10. Changes and law

We may update these terms and will tell you by email about important changes. South African law applies.
